● Labor Day

International Labor Day, also known as "May Day" and "International Day of Demonstration", is a national holiday celebrated in more than 80 countries around the world. It is celebrated on May 1 every year. It is a common holiday for working people all over the world.

After the founding of New China, the State Council of the Central People's Government designated May 1 as a legal Labor Day in December 1949, and the whole country took a day off. Every year on this day, the whole country celebrates, people change into festive costumes and gather happily in parks, theaters and squares to participate in various celebratory gatherings or cultural and sports entertainment activities, and to honor workers who have made outstanding contributions.

Countries around the world generally hold corresponding celebrations. However, not all countries celebrate May 1 as Labor Day, and those countries that also celebrate May 1 have very different ways of celebrating and customs.

On October 25, 2021, the Notice of the General Office of the State Council on the Arrangement of Some Holidays in 2022 was released, in which the Labor Day holiday is scheduled as follows: April 30 to May 4, 2022, a 5-day holiday, and April 24 (Sunday) and May 7 (Saturday) are working days.
